I was born and raised in Blaricum, The Netherlands, a unique village once noted as a Dutch artists' colony, where my family still lives and where my parents are laid to rest.

Oklahoma is the State where I settled 23 years ago, when my dreams and ambitions brought me across the Atlantic Ocean to the heartland of America, to build a business in the horse industry.

Being included in the Oklahoma Art community means a lot to me. Passing the Oklahoma Hall of Fame building many times, while visiting a friend in the Heritage Hills neighborhood, I always had a silent wish to have an exhibition in this beautiful building and have my name and art printed on the outdoor banner.

Finally in 2020 I had the honor to have my first exhibition in the museum, being part of the traveling OVAC exhibition 24 Works on Paper.

Being invited for this exhibition makes it full circle, "A Sense of Place" is for me a subject close to my heart. The artworks featured in this exhibition show my curious observation of Oklahoma, the landscape, the ever changing sky, sunrises and sunsets. The unique little towns with their red brick roads and many forgotten buildings dating back to the 1900's. See it as a Dutch person looking at your Oklahoma. They are my personal reflections on the contrasts as well as the commonalities of the two cultures that I will always live within.
